Help Polish Honeymoon Couple Assaulted in Miami

Anna and Jonasz Leczynski came from Poland to Miami for their honeymoon. They were staying at Treehouse Studio Hotel on Biscayne Boulevard. Monday morning 2/21/22 at 8:00am, they were walking on Biscayne Blvd. and 73 Street, heading for a bus taking them on a day trip to the Everglades. A man assaulted Jonasz, he fell into the street, then was struck by an oncoming car that did NOT stop. Jonasz was taken by ambulance to Ryder Trauma Center where he underwent emergency surgery to put a metal rod into his broken leg. Jonasz spent four days in ICU and remains in the hospital. This sweet couple should be back at home after a blissful tropical vacation. Instead, their honeymoon turned to unimaginable horror, and Jonasz will be dealing with his recovery for some time. Jonasz teaches English at a primary school for visually impaired children in Lodz, Poland. He is going to miss many days of work as he rehabilitates and heals. Anna is also missing many days of work, as she remains here in Miami going to the hospital daily to care for her husband. I am so grateful that I was connected to Anna and Jonasz through an American missionary to Poland so our family and friends can show them the compassionate side of Miamians. Thankfully the assailant has been arrested however, the car's driver is still at large. Please help Anna and Jonasz as they are continuing to incur many unexpected medical and living expenses.
