Hello, friends and family,
I’m writing with an incredibly heavy heart to ask for your help. My big guy, Poe, has been diagnosed severe hip dysplasia. After discussing options with our vet, we’ve learned that he’ll need surgery to restore his quality of life. His best chance for recovery is either a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) to relieve his pain, or, preferably, a total hip replacement to give him back his mobility to the fullest extent. Right now, he can’t put any weight on his back right leg, maintain his balance, or run/jump the way a dog should be able to do.
As you can imagine, these procedures are costly, and the financial burden is more than I can handle on my own. Poe has been a loyal companion and a true member of our family since I adopted him from the shelter a little over a year ago, and I want to give him the best chance at a pain-free, happy life moving forward.
The rough estimated cost for the THR is $8-10k. If you’re able to contribute, any donation, no matter how small, will help tremendously. If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others.
All donations will go towards Poe’s procedure(s), meds, and his post surgery care. Your support, whether financial or in spreading the word, means more than I can express.
Thank you so much for your kindness, love, and generosity. It gives us hope and brings us closer to getting Poe the care he desperately needs.
