Help Pocky get surgery to fix his leg!
My name is Pocky! I am a very happy and energetic lovebug chihuahua! My parents Mathais and Nate love me very much, but I am clumsy. I ran after a golf cart and fell down the stairs, breaking both my ulna and radius bones in my front right leg.
Hi, my name is Mathais Pruitt. Pocky is my sweet boy but he is a doofus. 2 years ago when he was a puppy he broke his front left leg jumping down a flight of stairs at my parent house. We were able to afford his recovery then, however times are different. Yesterday (6-3-2021) Pocky ran down the stairs and broke his OTHER leg. My spouse and I are both currently unemployed. We took him to the ER vet and they broke the news that this leg was not going to heal without surgery like his other leg did 2 years ago. We are currently living off $320 a week for while I am unemployed.
Pocky is scheduled with Dr. Gary Spodnick at Wake veterinary hospital and urgent care in Knightdale. The total cost for his surgery and all follow up visits is $3,325.00. We applied for CareCredit but we were denied separately. After filing jointly they approved us for $1,300. (we even tried Scratchpay with no luck). We can pay for the monthly payments of any loan but we don't have the credit or employment to get approved for any more credit. That's where you come in!
We need the remaining $2,000 by Wednesday the 9th of June to afford this surgery. If he does not get this leg fixed we only have two options: surrender Pocky, or amputate his leg. The vet has already advised us that because his left leg is weak from the break 2 years ago an amputation on the right will put so much stress on the left leg that it will fail and break. We would then be faced with surrendering him and they would possibly euthanize him, or putting him down ourselves. That.. isn't something I can even think about.
This surgery is the difference between life with his family (and dog sister Momo) and being surrendered (possible death).
Please help us get $2,000 in time! They will not operate until we have the money in hand. Please help me save my little boys leg.
