Help Pluto Start Over

Hi! My name is Pluto. As I’m sure a number of you know I recently went through a breakup with my partner of five years who I lived with and have had to essentially start my life over. I have suddenly been faced with the stress and financial burden of an unexpected move while not having a reliable source of income.

Due to a number of mental and physical health issues, I am unable to work a "regular" job and instead make my money through a number self-employed ventures, some of which put me on the margins of society. The ways I make money can be emotionally draining during the best of times, and right now during this period of instability I am struggling to find the energy to try to work. On top of this, we are entering the time of year where my work becomes slowest, so even if I let myself take a week or two off to recover I can’t guarantee that there will be much work for me by the time I’m doing better.

I haven’t made my personal struggles visible over the past year, but my life has been essentially running from one crisis to another for a very long time. On top of the stress of a deteriorating relationship, I’ve had to attend to a number of private emergencies that have left me utterly exhausted. To say I am burnt out would be putting it lightly. I am utterly exhausted and desperate for the chance to rest and take care of myself. I’m worried that if I don’t slow down now it will become even harder to bounce back eventually. I don’t get sick days, I don’t get paid time off or vacation pay, I don’t have social services to fall back on. Taking time off from work could financially ruin me.

Any money raised will be used to cover the cost of moving, rent and help with living expenses. I would also like to use some funds to replace things I no longer have due to moving out of my old apartment. I will be using some of my own money to buy things like paint and furnishings so that I can make my new space feel comfortable as soon as possible, which will also help me deal with this period of instability.

All I want right now is to rest, recover and feel like I have a home again.
