Hi all, earlier this week Hailey and I received some terrible news…. Our sweet boy Pluto has Osteosarcoma. Currently it is affecting his left front leg and after bone biopsy and numerous tests to rule out anything else we were forced to make some really hard decisions. There is no actual cure for this…. Palliative care to keep him as comfortable as we can until we can’t, radiation therapy, amputation followed by chemo, or euthanasia. After a horribly long week of worry and research, speaking with experts and many wonderful people who have dealt with this horrible cancer, and those who are most dear and loved by us and Pluto, we have decided to amputate and chemo. This was not a lightly made decision by any means…. If you know us at all you know HIS comfort and wellbeing is and will always be paramount to what we personally want. That being said, we believe given his age and size that he is a good candidate far successful future as a Tri Pawed. Our Vet agrees so he is currently scheduled for his amputation surgery this coming Tuesday and we will be following up with an oncologist to start his chemo out of town. I sure you can all imagine the huge financial cost attached to his decision…. Not even including things like a Help Em Up Harness, possibly leg brace for his good leg, supplements and even nonslip floor rugs as our house is mostly hard wood. This is a really huge journey we are embarking on and we appreciate any and all help, advice, prayers, and understanding as we navigate this new season. We all thank you so much even if all you can do is share for us…. Thank you
