Help please for Nellie’s cruciate operation

Hello to you all,
Nellie my dog was due to have a crutiate (knee ligament snapped) today and we’ve just been told that our insurance will only cover £750 of a £6,000 operation.
Nellie is 7 years old and we have paid for her insurance with pet protect since she was 12weeks of age.
We were assured that we had a lifetime cover and was the best but we’ve since found out the insurance doesn’t cover that one operation.
We are getting painkillers but these aren’t really helping and we don’t know what to do.
We have nowhere else to turn and are appealing to any animal lovers to help with this.

Nellie is the biggest softy you’d ever meet, placid, beautiful nature, an absolute heart thief.
She’s missing her walks and her group of friends which is heartbreaking.
Nellie lost her soulmate last year to bone cancer so has come out of her depression only to then have this happen to her while she was running around having a great time.
