Help Displaced Families in Plateau State, Nigeria, Rebuild Through Farming In Crisis
In Nigeria’s Middle Belt—particularly in Plateau State—communities in Bokkos and Bassa have recently ((April 12-14, 2025) experienced a devastating displacement due to relentless violence. These are not just any communities—they are the backbone of Nigeria’s food supply, responsible for much of what feeds the nation.
Today, many families—mostly youth, women, and children—have been forced from their ancestral lands into overcrowded, insecure camps with little hope and dwindling resources. Victims of a tragic cycle where injustice, poverty, inequality, and displacement feed into each other, these families are now dependent on overstretched emergency relief efforts.
Through Farming in Crisis, I aim to restore Dignity Through the Power of the Land.
Rather than letting displaced families wait helplessly for inconsistent food relief, we aim to restore dignity, self-reliance, and hope by helping them do what they know best—farm.
This initiative will:
- identity secure safe, land for temporary farming plots.
- Provide seeds, tools, and fertilizers to displaced families living in camps.
- Empower them to grow their own food during this critical farming season.
- Reduce dependency on unsustainable food relief efforts.
By supporting this project, you're helping displaced families regain control over their lives—restoring livelihoods, feeding their children, and fostering a sense of purpose amid crisis.
Why This Matters:
Most of these families have lost everything—homes, loved ones, and the land that sustained them. But they haven’t lost their will to survive. With your help, we can turn idle land into a source of life and show that even in times of conflict, growth is possible.
This pilot project will start with a few families, but with enough support, we can expand to reach many more Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across Plateau State.
