Help Plant a Tree in Sierra Leone
Donation protected
Hi, I am fundraising to plant trees in Sierra Leone, Karene District to start with then expand. There is devastating deforestation going on in my home town and I need your support to help change that narrative. I hope to plant 1000 trees over the next 5 years in the district but I will start with 200 trees by end of 2022 then 200 each year in various villages across the district. I won't just plant the trees but carry out various sensitisation programmes across schools and villages on the importance of trees.
I will be planting medicinal trees, fruit trees, as well as wild trees for both wild life and the people. As a musician, I wrote and released a song called Plant More Tik recently as way of sending a positive message to world on the value of trees and to encourage us to plant more trees. I am looking to raise £10,000 to kick start the project by April 2022, so please donate what you can as we make our world safer for our children's future.
Targets:
1. April 2022: £6000
- Land Preparation including documentation, registration and specialist to advice on type of trees and how to plant them.
- Purchasing and nursing seeds as well as purchasing nurseries to transplant in June.
- Training/running workshops with schools within Kamakwie Town and other villages to educate them on the importance of trees and get them involved in the tree planting project.
2. May to December: £4000
- Staff fees to maintain the nurseries and plants as well as to carry out continuous sensitisation across the district.
- Purchasing of equipment/tools such as, hoe, cutlasses, pickaxes, safety boots and gloves
- Purchasing of materials to project the plants from goats or other animals that will destroy the nurseries/plants
Please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss further.
