As many of you know, my dad, Christopher Briggs, recently passed away. He will be laid to rest at Leafy Lane Natural Burial Woods, a peaceful woodland setting where nature and memory come together.
In keeping with the ethos of the burial ground, traditional headstones aren’t permitted, only natural memorials like trees are allowed. I would love to plant a memorial cherry tree at the head of his grave, where he will be laid to rest, something living, beautiful, and lasting. A tree that blossoms each spring and continues to grow in the same woods where he rests.
“Each spring, this tree will bloom, not in mourning, but in celebration of a life well lived.”
The cost of planting and maintaining the tree is £700, and I’m reaching out to ask for help in raising the funds. Whether it’s a small donation or simply sharing this page, every gesture is deeply appreciated.
Dad always found joy in nature, especially at home in Ilmington, where he loved watching the birds through the large picture window and enjoying the peace of the outdoors. A cherry tree feels like the perfect tribute: rooted in nature, full of life, and quietly beautiful, just like him.
This will be in place of floral tributes, we hope this living memorial can blossom and grow for years to come.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this time
