Help Me Stay in Graduate School at USF!
Hi everyone,
My name is Pearci “PJ” Bastiany, and I’m currently a graduate student in the Master of Public Administration program at the University of San Francisco. I’m reaching out because I urgently need your support to stay enrolled for the upcoming Fall 2025 semester.
This past year has been full of challenges, and despite doing everything right—signing up for room and board, securing housing, and preparing to continue my studies—I was blindsided when my GradPLUS Loan was unexpectedly denied after I had already moved in and made financial commitments. While I was fortunate to receive one scholarship from USF to help with the balance, I still owe $10,000 to the university.
If I don’t receive support by Monday, August 25, 2025, which is the last day to register for classes, I will be forced to sacrifice another semester of graduate school. That would mean:
• Surrendering over $34,000 in approved federal aid (FAFSA loans) for the Fall 2025 semester
• Losing my seat as a Graduate Student Senate Representative for the College of Arts and Sciences, where I proudly serve on the University Budget Advisory Committee
• Pushing back my graduation yet again—from my original target of May 2026 to Fall 2026 or later
• Delaying my career and calling to serve communities through public policy, social equity, and administrative leadership
Every dollar raised will go directly to the University of San Francisco Student Accounts Office to help close the gap and keep me on track.
I’ve worked hard to get this far, and I’m not ready to give up. With your help, I can continue my education, continue my service to the student body, and continue striving for a better future—for myself and the communities I aim to serve.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign with your network. Every bit truly helps.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Pearci “PJ” Bastiany
