From Bhadra Jane & TJ Devadatta:
We are raising funds for our dear PJ Anasuya, turning 80 years in May, who is currently "unhoused" in the Miami Beach, FL area, going from place to place, with extremely limited resources. It's very challenging to find affordable senior housing or affordable apartment sharing. We've reached out to many Florida state and local non-profit organizations to get help for her and have had limited success. Now we are raising funds to address her immediate housing need and help her find stable, long-term, healthy housing.
Bhadra first met PJ in the Siddha Yoga Manhattan Ashram in the late '80s. She is a caring, loving, high-spirited, gifted wearable-art artist and painter. She has substantial health challenges from a mold issue in the apartment she had been in most recently and a car accident several years ago. Yet despite these challenges, her faith, high spirit, will to live, to be healthier and to contribute to others grows stronger. She has no financial resources, car, or family to help.
Along with financial donations, any ideas or connections for housing in Florida or other parts of the country (she is willing to move) would be appreciated. On behalf of PJ Anasuya, we thank you for anything you offer.
From Jackie:
PJ Ruster is an artist and haute coutre fashion designer. Her creations were sold on both coasts in the top stores. She loved designing and selling her designs. But a series of setbacks, family crises and health problems has left this extremely talented woman with no support and no stable housing.
I have known PJ for over 15 years and admired her joyful, engaging spirit. It is hard to see PJ without the opportunities and life she merits at this stage in her life having used up her savings. She is determined to continue creating and designing but now needs more backing and assistance in carrying out her ideas. She currently lives in Florida but would like to live somewhere else where she can work and contribute her talents.
It will be her birthday in early May. Despite all the great difficulties and very serious challenges she has endured, she has survived. In her own words she is a “spirit-fashion-artist-warrior.” She wants to find a place where she can be secure and do her designing and creating “while I’m still on the planet”!
