For most of my life I've been embarrassed by my front teeth gap even though I never had cavities or gingivitis, or plaque even. Sure do regret that now; rare is the photo of me showing my teeth. That's my mom and dad with their gaps proudly showing! I’m reaching out for help during a difficult chapter in my life. After a long illness and the medications needed to treat it, I am about to lose all of my teeth. I’ve been accepted into the University of Florida College of Dentistry Prosthodontics department, where Medicaid will cover the removal of my teeth and provide permanent dentures. However, those permanent dentures take 6 to 9 months to receive, and I’ve learned from others that immediate dentures are essential. They act as a band-aid and shape keeper, making the transition smoother and ensuring a better fit for the permanent dentures later. Without immediate dentures, I would be left toothless for months, which is not only emotionally difficult but also impacts my health and daily life.

Unfortunately, the clinic doesn’t accept Care Credit, and my son recently had to change jobs, so we’re living on my Social Security, which doesn’t even cover our mortgage. All the funds raised here will go directly to the UF College of Dentistry Prosthodontics department for immediate dentures, so I won’t have to face the uncertainty and discomfort of being without teeth after surgery. This support will make a huge difference in my recovery and quality of life.
