Help Pixie Walk Again: Support Her Surgery
Donation protected
Hi Everyone!
If you know my sister you know how much Pixie means not only her but to our whole family. I wanted to start this to support them! I will share updates of Pixie’s recovery since Ash doesn’t have instagram.
Below is a note from Ash.
Hi friends,
My Pixie girl woke up on July 4th unable to walk. Her back half was completely paralyzed out of nowhere.
After her MRI yesterday we found out she has a herniated disc that traveled 3-4 vertebrae’s and is pressing on her spinal cord, causing hemorrhaging, blood clots and a torn blood vessel. This is most likely extremely painful for her and if I want her to be able to walk again, spinal surgery is the only option.
Unfortunately, as you can guess, this is also insanely expensive. I am praying her health insurance covers $6-7k, but between the X-rays, bloodwork, anesthesia, MRI, spinal surgery, etc. this is costing me over $15k out of pocket. Not including physical therapy, post-op appointments, or any aftercare..
I know this may seem silly to some but if you know me, she is my world. She’s only 7 and she’s a healthy girl. We have so much more life to live together.
I am terrified but hopeful!! The vet is super optimistic that with close care and physical therapy for 4-6 weeks.. my girl should be able to use her legs and go potty normally, all by herself again.
I know times are tough but if anyone is in a situation to donate anything at all, my girl and I are forever grateful.
Your thoughts and prayers also mean the world to us!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this
Love you all.
- Ash
P.S. I didn’t want to make this too long but if anyone has additional questions regarding the situation feel free to text me.
