I was diagnosed with ulcerative pancolitis back in November after struggling with it undiagnosed for several years. The associated medical expenses suck because American healthcare is a joke. I don't have traditional health insurance, but rather a "cost sharing co-op" thing through my employer. But because that isn't considered to be insurance by the hospital, every visit to the gastroenterologist or a lab or (starting next week) the infusion center has to be pre-paid. Then I have to submit the bills to the co-op for them to decide if they will reimburse it, which they won't do at all until deductibles are met.

I had to put $2500 on a credit card to cover my initial deductible, with no good way to pay that off any time soon.

Starting next week, I am supposed to be getting Remicade by IV infusion. After the first dose, it repeats in 2 weeks, then 4 weeks after that, and then every 8 weeks from then on. My cost for each dose is just under $1900 that I have to pay up front.

The cost-sharing co-op has informed me that they will reimburse the infusion treatments through 2026 but I first have to meet another $2500 deductible.

So I'm looking to get help covering $5000 in deductibles. Anything helps. Thank you for reading! <3
