Through the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine’s Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity Chapter, 30 Pitt dental and hygiene students will be traveling to Honduras this May 2025 to provide dental care to over 1,000 patients. We would greatly appreciate any donations that will help pay for dental and sanitary supplies for our trip!
Delta Sigma Delta (DSD) is an organization of dental students and professionals united by a common mission: to elevate the standards of the dental profession and provide exceptional care to those in need. For over a decade, the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine’s DSD chapter has dedicated its May break to a Service Trip aimed at offering free dental care to underserved populations.
Last year, our team traveled to Comayagua, Honduras, where we provided care to nearly 2,000 individuals. This year, we are returning to Honduras with an expanded mission—to deliver not only treatment but also essential oral hygiene education and preventive care in remote communities with limited access to dental services. Our dedicated team of 30 dental students, faculty, residents, and hygienists will work tirelessly to ensure that those who would otherwise go without care receive the attention they need.
To continue our important work, we need your support.
Your generous donation will go directly towards covering the costs of dental supplies, materials, instruments, and the necessary baggage fees to transport these resources. Importantly, all funds will be directed solely to patient care, as our volunteers cover their own travel and lodging expenses.
