Help Pistol the Warrior Dachshund Get Cleft Palate Surgery

Hi everyone,

We’re Mike and Julie, and we’re reaching out with heavy but hopeful hearts to ask for your help for our tiny fighter, Pistol — a sweet dachshund puppy born with a severe cleft palate. From the moment he came into this world, Pistol has been showing us what true strength and determination look like.

Despite his condition, which makes it impossible for him to nurse normally, Pistol is fighting every day to survive. He’s currently being tube-fed every few hours and spending most of his time in a special incubator to help regulate his temperature and support his fragile body.

Our brave little guy will need specialized surgery to repair his cleft palate once he’s old enough — a procedure that will give him a real shot at life. Without it, he won’t be able to eat or drink on his own and will be at constant risk of infection and aspiration.

The cost of his care, including around-the-clock feeding, veterinary visits, medical supplies, and eventually the cleft palate surgery itself, is more than we can manage on our own. That’s why we’re turning to this community for help.
