Help Pistol Pete Recover from Rattlesnake Bite

Please help pay for Pistol Pete’s rattlesnake bite treatment!

While playing outside on his birthday, Pete sniffed around curiously as he always does, and suddenly, he let out a loud scream and sprinted back towards the house, falling frantically as he made his way towards the house. Almost immediately, his face began to swell and I knew something was wrong.

Initially believing it to be a bee sting, I brought him to the vet where they gave him a concentrated version of Benadryl and a steroid to stop inflammation. I believed we were in the clear until a day later when his throat began to swell into a large, softball sized growth. I brought him back to the vet, and after running some bloodwork, it was confirmed he was bit by a rattlesnake, my worst fear. I had even gotten him the rattlesnake venom vaccine for the last couple of years because I wanted to be proactive, but it only slows the progression, it does not make your dog immune.

He has to undergo immediate treatment with anti-venom, more Benadryl, fluids, antibiotics, and medical monitoring at the emergency vet. I want nothing more than for him to be okay. He has helped me through the loss of two of my brothers, and has made every single day spent with him feel like everything is grand and wondrous. I can not imagine my life without him, so I ask you to help me

pay off this medical debt so that we may continue our adventure together and heal.

Any money leftover will go directly to the Lancaster Animal shelter, where I adopted Pete from 2 years ago.
