My cat Pistachio is my heart and my family. He was perfectly normal one day, full of energy and love, and then the next day he suddenly fell sick out of nowhere. After rushing him to the emergency vet, he was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis—the worst case the vet had ever seen. I spent everything I had trying to get him the care he needed, but now I do not have the funds to continue supporting him. Despite everything, the vet discharged him with no medications and did not allow me to do a feeding tube or IV therapy at home. Now, I am syringe feeding him myself, doing everything I can to give him a fighting chance.
After seeking a second opinion, it is now possible that Pistachio may have Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a condition that is typically fatal if left untreated.
Pistachio is a true ball of sunshine. He headbutts me, snuggles with me every single night, and even acts as my protector when I shower (he hates when I shower and yells the whole time!). He is my sweet boy, and I can't imagine losing him. I adopted him when he was only 2 months old.
Pancreatitis in cats often requires days of hospitalization with IV therapy, but I can't afford to continue this on my own. I've been syringe feeding Pistachio at home as much as he'll tolerate, but it's a struggle. Especially since I have to work, and can't take off to care for him every hour. The funds raised here will go directly toward additional vet visits, medication, and anything else that might help Pistachio recover. Without this support, he may not survive, and I want to give him a fighting chance.
Anything helps, and if you can't donate, please consider sharing our story. Vet bills are absolutely overwhelming, and the system is so hard for pet owners like me. Your kindness and support mean the world to both of us. Thank you for giving Pistachio a chance.
