Help Pippin See a Cardiologist

Pippin is bright, affectionate, playful 3-year-old tuxedo cat with a personality as big as the room he's in. Normally, he only has one speed: run. His favourite activities are playing, snuggling with his dad, and tormenting his sister, Ramona. On February 24 at 5:30 PM my husband, Ryan, and I witnessed Pippin collapse suddenly and go into cardiac arrest. By the grace of God, he came back to us. We took him to the emergency vet, and they confirmed a strong likelihood that he had a transient blood clot that briefly stopped his heart. He was sent home on blood thinners as he is at risk of having another at any time.

Due to his young age, this is likely due to an underlying heart condition that we need to get diagnosed to get on the best treatment. There is only one cat cardiologist in Nova Scotia, and presently they are not accepting any new referrals. This leaves us with one option: to travel to Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, around 184 km or over 100 miles from us.

In addition, our car has started malfunctioning requiring multiple expensive patchwork fixes, scheduled payments have gone up on almost every single one of our bills, and the cost of living in general is higher for us than most due to special dietary needs within the household. Cost of living is becoming untenable for most, and unfortunately, it is for us as well.

Helping our fuzzy son is a no-brainer. He's a spark of joy and brightness in our lives. We are going to find a way to help him if we can. We are asking for any support you might be able to give us to help with the following:
