Pippin's Journey:
Pippin's life has been a rollercoaster, starting with a difficult past. Abandoned by his owner of six years, he found an unexpected savior in my mom, who rescued him from Facebook Marketplace. Unfortunately, Pippin's troubles didn't end there. Living as an outside dog wasn't suitable for him due to an undiagnosed torn back left ACL, leaving him in constant pain and infested with fleas and ticks.
Toying with the idea of adopting a pet, my mom introduced me to Pippin for a 3-month trial. Little did I know that he would steal my heart. So like all other free trials, I forgot to cancel. Despite the challenges of suddenly having a dog for the first time and not only that, but a senior dog, we’ve been best pals for almost two years now.
Current Situation:
Pippin has been my steadfast companion, enduring a year in a cramped Old Town studio and going to work with me every day, to a more comfortable life in the South Loop with me and his best friend (and my roommate), Carmen. He makes me laugh when I’m stressed, he makes sure I don't stay out too late, and he takes 2 minutes off my mile when he drags me on our runs by Lake Michigan.
Recently, Pippin was diagnosed with a torn back right ACL, compounding the challenges he already faces. His vet expresses concern that without surgery, Pippin's health is rapidly declining, threatening to rob him of simple joys like the dog park, leisurely walks, going to the beach, and ultimately shorten his life.
How You Can Help:
I've created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Pippin's much-needed surgery. The procedure is crucial to alleviate his pain and improve his quality of life. Your support will make a significant impact on Pippin's well-being, ensuring he can enjoy his senior years with the love and care he deserves.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving Pippin a chance at a happier, healthier life. Additionally, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and network will help spread the word.
Thank you for being a part of Pippin's journey towards recovery!
