My cat Pippie is under two years old, and he truly is my best friend—like a child to me. He’s always been a fun-loving, confident cat who brings so much joy to my life. Pippie loves to play fight, climb, and watch his fish swim around. He’s smart, too—he can do a sit, a down, and a come. Before he got sick, I made his food from scratch and did everything I could to give him the best life possible.
Recently, Pippie was diagnosed with feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD), a condition that causes crystals to form in his urine and blocks him from peeing. When he gets blocked, he has only about 24 hours to receive medical care before it becomes life-threatening. Right now, he’s only on pain management, and the only surgery that can save him is called Perineal Urethrostomy (PU surgery). It’s an expensive procedure, but it’s his best chance to live a pain-free life and possibly reduce or eliminate the need for prescription medications.
Pippie has been struggling for a while. He’ll have a week or two where he feels his best, and then everything can go south in a weekend. I’ve given my all to care for him, and I just want to see him happy and healthy again. Any support you can offer means the world to us. Thank you for helping me give Pippie the best life possible.
