Help Pippi Fight Cancer After Emergency Surgery

Hi, I'm Pippi

Mommy says I'm the most loveable, intelligent Sheepadoodle ever - and I think she's right. I'm always happy, excited to see everyone, and completely obsessed with my big sister Daisy. I follow her everywhere. She's my best friend.

Mom & Daisy rescued me from a barn when I was 7 months old and I knew I found my furr ever home. I instantly became part of their little family.

I'm 2 now and, Suddenly everything changed.

Mom came home from her night shift and, for the first time ever, I wasn’t at the door jumping on her. She immediately knew something was wrong. When she bent down beside me, she heard my breathing wasn’t normal.

She rushed me to the nearest vet. At first they thought it might be kennel cough but Mom knew something more serious was happening and insisted on X-rays. That decision saved my life.

The imaging revealed a large mass in my throat that was blocking my airway. I had to be intubated to breathe and they tried to cut and drain some of the mass, causing trauma and bleeding in my throat.
Mom was told I needed emergency surgery and they sent us to a specialist hospital Guelph.

There, Mom was faced with the unbearable choice - sign for thousands of dollars in life saving treatment, or say goodbye. Through tears, she hugged me, kissed me, and promised she would never give up on me.

I was scared as they carried me away from Mommy again. They poked me with more needles and cut an opening in my neck so I could breathe with a ventilator while my little body fought to survive.

In the morning I underwent a CT scan, They discovered the mass was so large it was wrapped between my trachea, esophagus, larynx, and up to my epiglottis. They had to perform life saving surgery.

The surgeons weren't able to safely remove all of the mass because of the delicate structures and arteries. Mommy was so proud of me for being so brave.

Then came the news no one wants to hear:
The preliminary results showed cancer. Mommy is devastated. She agreed to more extensive histopathology to determine the type, stage and prognosis.

At only 2 years old, I am now recovering from magor surgery while we wait for more answers about what comes next. I still have an open trachea site that will take weeks to heal. I cannot bark. I'm in pain and Mommy has to put pills down my throat and hand feed me.

Mommy can't go to work because I can't be left alone, and she barely sleeps because she's awake listening to every breath I take.

I still have lots of running, playing and barking to do, friends to meet, and love to share. Mommy and Daisy need me. I am praying for a miracle.

Our Vet bills have already passed $8000. And we still have follow up appointments, stitches to remove, and an Oncology consultation ahead to determine my treatment plan.
We are desperately seeking help to give Pippi the chance she deserves, to heal, to fight, and to keep bringing love to everyone around her.

Pippi is more than a dog - She is Family. She is Joy. She is Love. She is the light in our lives.

Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing Pippi's story, means more than words can ever express.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us stand beside Pippi in this fight.
