On 1/22 I rushed my rescue cat, Pippa, to urgent care after I witnessed her experiencing what looked to be some kind of stroke or seizure. That same day, Pippa went on to have three additional “episodes”, in which she would lose mobility, pant, lose control of her bowels, and at times go unconscious.
We had an amazing care team at MedVet in Avondale, who after multiple rounds of blood work, an ultrasound, two nights in the ICU, an echocardiogram, and a visit with the cardiologist and neurologist diagnosed Pippa with endocarditis of the aortic heart valve - essentially a lesion/inflammation in her heart which affects the health of her blood.
She got to come home on 1/24, and is now on many medications (6!) in an effort to remove the infection from her body.
Pippa is the sweetest girl. She loves treats, playing with strings, cuddling in the morning, and holding hands (paws) when she sleeps. She has been under a significant amount of stress (as has her mom) over the past few days as we implement and figure out how to proceed with her treatment.
Unfortunately, her vet bills are substantial. If you are able to help, we would be so extremely grateful. Every little bit counts and will assist us in covering these bills and restoring Pippa back to health. Thank you!❤️
