Help Piper Walk Again: Urgent Vet Care Needed
Donation protected
Update:
Piper is resting at home right now. We are still waiting to hear from the orthopedic surgeon. She does have a fracture on her right hip joint. We thought her left was fractured but it was just severely bruised and swollen.
She still cannot walk. She is on gabapentin, carprovet, and cefpodoxime for pain management and to prevent infections in her many open wounds. No internal bleeding thank God.
The meds are 55 a bottle for all three at my local vet. So 165/month as well as follow up visits are 200$ plus blood testing to ensure no kidney damage. I spent 550$ already on her vet care (165$ for meds 180$ for visit, and 215$ for X-rays). She has the option to get some meds to help her lay down and relax which I am purchasing today. I'm assuming it's another 55$ but I am unsure at this time. She is trying to walk on her hip, vet said she cannot and it could mean the difference of 10,000$ to fix it or not. Therefore I am picking up those meds as soon as this money hits my account.
Thank you for all the love from both me and Piper as well as our five kiddos ❤️. I could not have done this without your support.

Hi, this is Amy Schafer. This fund is for my service dog, Piper. She was hit by a car. She can't put any weight on her back left leg at all. The vet I called said they are concerned about a possible spinal injury and a possible leg fracture.
I was made aware to give vet info. She will be seen at iron mountain animal hospital in iron mountain michigan. The phone number is (906) [phone redacted] . I am aware the cost is not everything I'd need but was the suggestion for go find me as a start.
She is 6 years old and my best friend, and my five kids are like her kids. Please, we need help. I am disabled and have very limited funding. Even sharing would be an amazing help. Thank you, and I'll keep updated with any and all updates as I get them.
I am praying for enough funding to get X-rays tomorrow at the vet as the emergency vet costs 2 grand to just walk in and a 3-hour drive.
Thank you
Update
Piper was taken in and given an X-ray from the vet. She has a fractured hip. Gabapentin, carprovet, and antibiotics were given.
