Help Piper Recover: Support His Surgery Costs
Help Repay Piper’s Life-Saving Surgery Costs and Hospitalization
Dear Friends, Animal Lovers, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
We need your help to repay the costs of emergency surgery that saved our beloved cat, Piper’s, life. Last week, Piper suddenly became very sick—he began to isolate, was unable to pee, exhibited difficulty walking and clearly became more distressed and in pain. After rushing him to the vet, we received the devastating news that he was suffering from feline idiopathic cystitis, which led to a life-threatening urinary obstruction and impending damage to his kidneys. Without immediate surgery and hospitalization, he would not have survived.
The Situation
Piper required emergency surgery, intensive monitoring, diagnostic imaging, and blood work to save his life. Thanks to the incredible veterinary team, he made it through surgery and is now on the road to recovery. However, the cost of his care has been overwhelming—$5,000 in medical bills—and we are struggling to cover this unexpected expense.
Piper Means the World to Us
Piper is more than a pet—he’s family. These cats saved my life when the pandemic first broke out. When I was worried about falling into a depressive spiral, Piper would be there by my side demanding play and pets, helping me stay grounded with his purrs along the way. And if you only pet him with one hand and your other hand is free, then “what are you doing you have another hand right there, pet me with it!”
Since cats purr to soothe themselves, his little acts of love has always been able to snap me out of the worst episodes.
I know most people would say the debt for these cats ain’t worth it but I will literally do anything for these boys, they deserve the happiest most fulfilling life. I literally owe them mine.
He’s always been a source of comfort and happiness, whether he’s snuggling up after a long day, bringing me his favorite toys, or simply keeping me company when I need it most. Seeing him in pain was heartbreaking, but knowing he’s on the mend gives us so much hope.
How You Can Help
We are humbly asking for support in repaying the $5,000 vet bill for Piper’s life-saving care. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward these costs. Any additional funds will be donated to a local animal rescue to help other pets in need.
While Piper was covered by pet insurance, our claim for his emergency, life-saving surgery was unexpectedly denied. We are actively appealing this decision, as we firmly believe that his treatment should be covered under his policy. However, the appeals process can be lengthy, and in the meantime, I face a pressing financial burden. Your support through this fundraiser will help us cover these urgent costs and ensure that Piper receives the care he needs without delay.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Donate: Any amount makes a difference and helps us get closer to covering Piper’s medical expenses.
2. Share: If you can’t donate, please share this campaign with your friends and family. Spreading the word is just as valuable.
Thank You
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read Piper’s story. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us. We’re beyond grateful for the chance to give Piper a second chance, and we’ll continue to share updates on his recovery.
(Note: This is organized by Alex J to help Quinn with these expenses. All funds will go to Quinn, with any excess funds being donated to local animal shelters.)
