Piper has been my loyal companion and emotional support dog for 11 years. She came into my life thanks to my Facebook friends, who helped me connect with a breeder in Texas. After losing both of my parents, Piper was the one who kept me going—her love and presence truly saved me during the hardest time of my life. I never imagined that she would be the one in need of help one day.

Recently, Piper was injured at the dog park when my other dog accidentally ran into her at full speed. The impact hurt her back right knee, and now she can’t go for walks, play at the park, or even get on the couch without help. It’s heartbreaking to see her struggle, especially since she used to love our two-mile walks and adventures together. Now, she just looks at me with those big brown eyes, silently asking for help to get up and down the stairs or onto the bed. She’s only 11 and still has a few good years left, but she needs surgery to have a chance at enjoying them.
