Help Piper Get Back on Her Paws!
Hi everyone,
My name is Monique, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my beloved dog, Piper. Piper is a 3-year-old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, and she's currently going through a frightening and frustrating medical battle. We desperately need help covering the mounting veterinary costs as we try to diagnose and treat her mysterious illness.
For a while now, Piper hasn't been herself. She's been experiencing a loss of appetite, frequent vomiting, and has started losing weight. It's heartbreaking to see her so unwell and not know how to make her feel better. We've been in and out of the vet's office, and the medical bills are piling up quickly, even before we have a definitive diagnosis.
Piper's recent blood work has shown significant elevation in her liver enzymes (you can see some of the results in the image provided). Her ALT, ALP, and GGT levels are all much higher than they should be, indicating a serious issue with her liver function. Her total protein is also low, and her sodium is high, while potassium is low, further highlighting imbalances in her system.
The veterinarians are working tirelessly to pinpoint the exact cause of her illness, but so far, it's a puzzle. They suspect it could be pancreatitis, an autoimmune issue, or even hepatitis. Each of these possibilities requires different and often extensive treatment plans.
To get closer to an answer, Piper is scheduled for another ultrasound this Thursday, July 24th, 2025. We're praying this will give us the clarity we need to finally understand what's happening inside her little body and guide us toward the right course of action.
The financial strain of these ongoing tests, consultations, and potential future treatments is becoming overwhelming. As much as we want to do everything we can for Piper, the costs are rapidly exceeding what we can manage on our own.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a world of difference. Your generosity would help us cover the costs of her diagnostic tests (blood work, ultrasounds), medications, and any specialized treatments she may need once we have a diagnosis. More importantly, it would give us hope and peace of mind knowing we're doing everything possible to get Piper back to her happy, energetic self.
Piper is more than just a pet; she's a cherished member of our family. She brings so much joy and love into our lives, and we can't imagine facing this without doing everything in our power to help her.
Please consider donating and sharing Piper's story with your friends and family. We are incredibly grateful for any support you can offer during this challenging time. We will keep you updated on her progress as we learn more.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Rivera family
