Help Pip Fight FIP

Donation protected
Hello Fellow Cat Lovers!

I am raising funds to save my sweet 8 month old cat Pippin who is currently fighting FIP Feline Infectious Peritonitis.

Pip started a new life saving anti-viral treatment for a disease that, until recently, was a death sentence for kittens. So far Pip is doing amazingly and showing a great response to the medicine. Pip has the nuerological form of FIP which requires a much higher dose that increases as he gets healthier and gains weight. His treatment is currently costing $72.50 a day. Along with vet bills and the medicine his total treatment is going to cost over $8,000. We have made it this far but as you can imagine I am financially drained. It has been especially difficult timing as I was in recovery from surgery for the month of September and so on top of Pip's treatment I also was unable to work.

Please help me help Pip! He is such a special guy with a huge spirit and has been so resilient during this hard time. Any amount helps and please spread the word if you can. Go Pip!!! <3

Pip’s Story: We got sunny little Pip back in April. My cat Oscar had tragically passed away back in December after being diagnosed with stage 5 leukemia lymphoma. He was a bonded pair with his brother Toby and after Oscar's tragic passing Toby's refused to eat and his health rapidly declined. After a few months Toby was still not getting better and we were nudged to think about introducing another cat into the family. We were still grieving the loss of our cat Oscar but felt that enough time had passed and that Toby having a new companion could help bring him back to life and feel less lonely. Enter Pippin. After introducing this sweet little kitten into our home Toby slowly regained his health and light was brought back into our home. Things were looking up. Then a couple months pass and in August Pip seems not to be feeling so well. I notice his appetite and energy are not where a young kitten's should be. He wasn't finishing his food and was spending a significant portion of the day sleeping. His body was also feeling very hot in the evenings and was snuggling with us a lot more than usual in the night. I brought him into the vet really just to be cautious after a year of so much sickness and visits to the emergency vet with Oscar and Toby. I was thinking maybe he had a cold or something mild, next thing I know I am at the Emergency Vet Hospital being told that this sweet little guy has swollen organs, internal lesions, and bloodwork levels that all indicated a terminal illness I have never even heard of before. The disease is historically 100% fatal with cats declining rapidly within days. I was fortunate enough to have one of the Vet's encourage me to check out a new treatment that has shown really amazing results but is not yet released for them to supply. I met with someone through the network my vet suggested I reach out to and the next day Pip was getting his first dose of an anti-viral treatment. Thousands of cats have been cured from FIP through this new treatment and I'm hoping for Pip to join them!

The treatment is very grueling and requires daily injections for 84 days along with closely monitoring for signs of break through symptoms, regular weighing, taking his temperature, treating sores which are an unfortunate side effect during treatment ( hence the shirts ) and getting blood work done every few weeks to make sure the treatment is working. We only have a little ways to go and his last two bloodwork results were great. Science is amazing. This disease has always been a death sentence for cats and thousands have now beat FIP to live happy kitty lives that a few years ago would have had no option but euthanasia.
