Hello everyone. My name is Purvi Patel and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of my friend/neighbor Pooja Patel aka Pinky as she’s in critical condition after a fire/burn incident from a grease fire/explosion on the night of April 9th. A fire broke out at her home and while trying to contain it her clothes and body caught on fire within seconds which caused severe 3rd degree burns on 70% of her body (face down to her knees). She has also suffered lung damage as a result of smoke inhalation and is unable to breathe on her own at the moment. The biggest tragedy of this incident is that Puja was almost 6 months pregnant and unfortunately the trauma to her body was too severe and she ultimately lost her baby boy. Not only does she have severe trauma from her burns but the emotional trauma of losing a child is such a tragic way in unimaginable.
The doctors had said tho her body is very badly burn she is showing signs of improvement and is expected to make a recovery. Pinky has a very long journey of recovery ahead of her as she is needs to undergo several surgeries including facial reconstruction.
Pooja is in the US on an H-1B visa and works in IT and most her family and support is in india including her husband Ajay. Ajay who had to go back to India due to Visa issues in February is trying to get an emergency Visa to come to US to be by Pooja’s side but the process is a little difficult at the moment. Pooja and Ajay also have a 4 year old daughter back in India which makes this situation all the more difficult! The funds raised will be used medical bills for multiple surgeries and she will be in hospital for at the least 4 weeks. Please help in anyway you can or simply just pray for her and her family.
