Hi, I’m Bec (@pinkspirationbec on Instagram). I live with a neurological condition called Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), which affects how my brain and body communicates, as well as chronic hip pain.

Some days my body decides it doesn’t want to cooperate with me. I experience different symptoms like chronic fatigue, hip and back pain, tingling and numbness, getting run down easily, my memory can not be the best sometimes, getting words out can be a struggle, and not being able to walk or move much which stops me being able to do certain activities around the house. This makes simple things feel like a marathon sometimes.

I do my best to live a full, happy life, and bodybuilding, para-powerlifting and Zumba have all become a huge part of that. It gives me structure, purpose to enjoy life, an amazing goal to work towards and allows me to keep active and have a sense of community around me.

But behind all of that, managing my FND is very expensive. I have weekly physiotherapy and exercise phsyiologist appointments, as well as medications and other regular specialist appointments. Everything adds up quickly, and it's hard to keep on top of medical bills when I'm unable to work and I'm still waiting to get on the NDIS for support (they've denied my request 4 or 5 times now).

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help coverf and ease some of the financial pressure so I can continue focusing on my health and advocating for myself and others with disabilities.

$20,000 would help me cover my medical expenses for a whole year, and be able to purchase a new walker which I also need.
