Hello, my name is Wendolin, and I run Piñata Surprise, a small business in the heart of the Piñata District. A women owned Latina owned business.
Over the past year, our community has faced challenges due to ICE raids and increased enforcement, and like many local businesses, our sales have slowed down. We have been able to stay afloat thanks to our savings, but now we are short on rent and urgently need support to keep our doors open. We are directly next to the fashion district right where the first ice raid happened last year. And rightfully so many are scared to come to this part of DTLA.
I started this venture, and I am the main provider for my family. My parents do not work and are at too much risk with ICE raids, so this business supports all of us. My siblings and I are trying to make ends meet so that our parents are not put at risk in public and face possible kidnapping by ICE. Right now, we need the community’s help to continue operating.
Your donation will help us pay overdue rent so Piñata Surprise can stay open, continue serving and supporting our community, and keep providing for my family and ensuring their safety.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you cannot donate, sharing this page with your network is just as valuable.
Thank you for helping Piñata Surprise continue to thrive. Your support means everything to us.
With gratitude,
Wendolin
