Hi, my name is Piña, and I need your help so I can walk and run again.
On Friday, February 21st, I started my day like any other—stretching after a good sleep and greeting my mom, Thalia. I love to zoom around the house, sometimes making up my own parkour moves by jumping off the couch or the wall. I always bark and jump by the gate when I see the school bus. But that morning, something felt different.
As the day went on, I didn’t feel like moving much, so I stayed in my bed. When my mom came home from work, I couldn’t move my back legs at all. She rushed me to the emergency vet, and after lots of tests, they said I have IVDD. The only way for me to walk again is with surgery.
I don’t understand why this happened, but I know my mom is doing everything she can to help me. I miss running and playing, and I really want to get better. If you can help in any way, I would be so grateful. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean the world to me and my mom. She promises to keep everyone updated on my journey—hopefully back to zoomies (but no more parkour, I guess).
Thank you for reading my story.
