Help Ms. Pilar

Dear Rising Sun Families,

We hope that the New Year has brought you a renewed hope for a better year as things appear to be nearing an end to this terrible 2020 Pandemic. The year 2020 also brought with it another dark day of news that we must share with you.

Here at Rising Sun, we’ve always been blessed with wonderful Teachers, some have moved on with their careers or have retired. We continue on, teaching and loving our wonderful little friends but we never forget those Teachers that passed through our doors they continue to be part of our Rising Sun families.

One very special Teacher came to us shortly after opening our wonderful new school back in 2015 with a simple knock at the door inquiring about our new school and a possible job as a preschool Teacher. Call it fate, just pure luck or another beautiful day shinning on Rising Sun that would bring her here to us, our wonderful Teacher Ms. Pilar Craigie. After a few words, I could tell that this very special lady would call Rising Sun home as we do.

This very special soul brought with her many teachings, knowledge, and strong personal experiences that she most eloquently shared. We learned so many things from her on every level, she would always brainstorm with us on how we could make our school that much better for our little friends and also how we could better ourselves as individuals.
She took care of the children with great care and respect as well as the teachers working side by side with her. Her work ethics were outstanding, and she never seemed to tire. She will always be remembered in our classroom as a hardworking teacher who devoted all her energy to teach because she sincerely loved what she did.

Ms. Pilar Craigie started noticing odd medical symptoms the end of 2019 and continued experience them through the end of 2020. She was sent to UCSF January 2021 and was met with a team of Doctors that would soon after give Ms. Pilar some terrible news. In February this year our Ms. Pilar was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). She had just purchased her new home in Brentwood, Ca so that she could bring her aging mother home with her from Peru so that she could care for her. Sadly, but maybe by a higher power, her mother is here now to help care for her.

As you can imagine, her financial situation has dramatically changed, and Rising Sun would like to help bring a little relieve to Ms. Pilar and her mom. We have set up a Go Fund Me page for anyone that is able to donate. Please help us help Ms. Pilar. 100% of donations will go directly to help Ms. Pilar.

Sincerely,

Rising Sun Family
