We’re fundraising on behalf of our sweet, funny, and impossibly loving little friend, Piglet.

Piglet Update:

On December 18th, Piglet almost lost her life.

She was rushed to emergency veterinary services and admitted into intensive care, barely able to breathe. What was meant to go toward her upcoming breathing and heart murmur surgeries had to be used immediately—every single dollar—to give her a life-saving chance in that moment.

Piglet was lethargic, fragile, and fading. We did everything we could here at Ritual to support her—Red Light Therapy, hoping to ease her breathing and give her some relief. But despite our efforts, her right lung was filled with pneumonia, and her tiny body simply couldn’t keep up.

Our hearts shattered when Piglet nearly passed away on the way to the hospital. It’s something no pet parent should ever have to experience. Watching her fight for each breath was devastating.

We are pleading from the deepest place in our hearts—if you have ever met Piglet, felt her gentle soul, or understand how deeply these little earth angels touch our lives, please consider donating whatever you can. We are desperate, but we are also hopeful.

Piglet is a fighter. She is love wrapped in fur. And we refuse to give up on her.

Piglet is an eight month old pocket bully with a heart so big it could soften anyone who meets her. Her little snort could melt even the toughest soul, but the truth behind her story would break even the strongest heart.

Piglet was rescued from a horrific puppy mill in Brampton, where the conditions were unimaginable.

She spent her early life sitting in her own feces and urine, developing rashes on her bottom and legs from the filth. She never got to experience the outdoors, grass under her paws, or the warmth of sunlight. And yet, despite everything, she meets every new day with love, trust, and that joyful wiggly bum.

When we heard about Piglet, she was one day away from being impounded and losing any chance at the life she deserved.

We couldn’t let that happen. We had to give her a fighting chance.

In those first few days with us, Piglet didn’t understand the outside world at all. She refused to walk on pavement or even step outdoors. Everything was new, overwhelming, and scary for her. So we did what any loving family would do.

We put her in a little wagon and trekked her around town, showing her that the world could be gentle, safe, and full of love. She would peek over the edge with those curious eyes, slowly learning that life outside a puppy mill could be beautiful.

Since then, Piglet has become the unofficial shop dog at Ritual Beauty & Wellness.

Her mama has to work, and after everything Piglet has been through, we just couldn’t imagine leaving her alone or anxious.

She has become our little mascot, showering everyone with affection and brightening our space with her sweet spirit.

But now Piglet needs help we cannot give her alone.

Piglet urgently requires life saving surgeries to repair a heart murmur and help her breathing because her lungs cannot handle the strain. Her doctors have warned that without this surgery, Piglet may not make it through the summer.

She has fought so hard already, escaping the puppy mill, escaping being impounded, learning how to be a puppy, learning how to trust, and now she needs one more chance.

A chance to breathe easily. A chance to run. A chance to live the long, safe, joyful life she deserves.

Anything you can contribute, whether big or small, brings Piglet one step closer to healing. One step closer to safety. One step closer to the beautiful life she was meant to have.
