Help Pierre the Adventure Cat Fight for His Life
Donation protected
Pierre, a beloved rescue cat, has been a cherished member of Carla and Mike Forgie’s family since April 2022. Adopted from a Denver animal shelter, Pierre quickly became known as the Adventure Cat—joining his two dog siblings on hikes, camping trips, and paddle board outings. He’s also a gentle soul who loves to cuddle with Carla while she reads, and his playful spirit has brought endless joy to their home. Pierre’s story even made it to 9newsdenver, where he was featured for his adventurous life.
Recently, Pierre’s health took a sudden and serious turn. He stopped eating, and after an emergency vet visit, he was found to be on the verge of fatty liver disease. Despite being fitted with a feeding tube and receiving intensive care, Pierre’s condition worsened. His red and white blood cell counts, as well as his platelets, have dropped dramatically. The specialists are working tirelessly to diagnose the cause—whether it’s an infectious disease, bone marrow issue, or an autoimmune disorder—but answers are still out of reach. Pierre is now staying at a specialty clinic, undergoing round-the-clock care and extensive testing, while his condition remains critical.
The financial burden on Carla and Mike is overwhelming. Emergency and specialty vet bills are mounting, with more costs expected as Pierre continues to fight for his life. Carla is missing time at work to be there for Pierre, while Mike is doing his best to keep things afloat. They are putting everything on credit cards, determined to give Pierre every chance, but the uncertainty and mounting expenses are taking a heavy toll. Any support from friends, family, and the community would mean the world to them, helping to ease the financial stress so they can focus on giving Pierre the care he desperately needs.
