Help Pierre gain his life back

Hi my name is Liliana Gonzales and Cesar Gonzales and we are Pierre Gonzales parents. On June 8th we received a phone call I would never expect in my life, a call from Lumberton Police department informing me that our son was involved on a fatal accident. Our lives changed that moment. We prayed and cried as we were rushing to the hospital, fearing for the worse. As the hours went by all we could do was pray, cry and pray some more as we waited for the doctors to give us information. All we knew was he was given CPR twice at the scene of the accident, unaware at the time how this took place. 6-8 hours after receiving that devastating phone call, we finally get a phone call from the nurse for us to come up and see our son. Surgery was over. (Due to covid-19 they had us waiting in the lobby of Cooper Hospital, they only spoke to us via phone.) My husband was so devastated that it was hard for him to see Pierre after surgery, we were unsure if it was to see him recover or expect the worse.

our son has fought for a second chance of life, he’s a strong man. He hasn’t given up on this earth and we do not want to fail him.

since his operation at Cooper Hospital he was discharged and was moved to a rehab center. Due to insurance he’s been on different rehab centers, hoping for him to get ahead. One night we receive a phone call, that our son had fallen off the bed. He had to taken to the hospital due to that. Allaire rehab center had left our son unattended while changing him, which cause him to fall and his wounds were opened due to the fall. In the hospital, they also found he had pneumonia and was having difficulty breathing. Those days were crucial, Pierre was once again fighting for his life. He’s had pneumonia about 3 times, and each time he has recovered because he wants another chance in life.

He’s currently in Kessler rehab center, one of the best facilities in the state. They take care of him and We are happy with their hard work. Our son is putting all his effort in his physical therapy, and speech. He’s working on communicating with us.

We ask for your help, my husband and I have been paying for his expenses from our savings, however we do not have all the means to cover his equipment for his return home.
