On Monday, August 24, 2026, what started as a normal day turned into our family’s worst nightmare.

While shopping inside a Dollar Tree in Inkster, Michigan, our mother, Phyllis, was brutally attacked and stabbed more than 10 times by a stranger in an unprovoked attack. She did not know her attacker.

After losing an extreme amount of blood, our Mom was rushed to the hospital by EMS in critical condition. She has undergone several surgeries, and by God’s grace, she is alive and stable. She remains in the ICU as she continues to fight and recover.

Our Mom still has a long road to recovery. The physical, psychological, emotional, and financial challenges have already become overwhelming, and we are now asking for help. Our goal is to make sure she has the time, care, and resources she needs to heal without the added burden of financial stress.

Even with insurance, the costs of her medical care, rehabilitation, future home care, medications, transportation, and everyday living expenses will quickly become more than our family can carry alone.

That is why we are humbly asking for your help as we work to raise $250,000 to support our Mom throughout her recovery and help provide the care and resources she will need in the months ahead.

This has been the hardest week of our lives, but the outpouring of love, prayers, and support we have already received has helped carry us through moments when we didn’t know how we would keep going.

Above all, we thank God for covering and protecting our mother, for giving her strength, and for allowing her to make it through the unimaginable. We continue to pray for complete healing, restoration, and strength for the long road ahead.
