Dear Friends and Family,

We are reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for our beloved Momma, who is facing a critical health challenge. Phyllis was diagnosed 4 years ago with interstitial lung disease and her lung function has deteriorated since. She now requires the constant use of oxygen. Once an avid exerciser, walking 2.0 mph on the treadmill is a significant challenge for her. Simply walking from the car into a store is exhausting for her. After exhausting all other treatment options, her medical team at Duke has recommended a double lung transplant as her best chance for a better quality of life.

The journey ahead is daunting and filled with uncertainty. In addition to the significant medical costs, there are also additional expenses that will need to be covered, including medications, living expenses, and travel expenses for ongoing treatments. Our goal is to raise $20,000 to help cover these costs and ensure that Phyllis receives the best possible care without the added burden of financial stress on her and Dad.

Mom has always been a source of strength and love for our family and friends. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith have touched so many lives. Now, we have the opportunity to give back and support her in this critical time.
