So my sister Phyllis who lives in the state of Washington was walking her dog on Feb 1st and was attacked by a pit-bull and another dog who got out of their fenced yard. Here's a part of her account:

"So scary that Betsy and I were attacked by a pit bull and another smaller mix dog that got out of their fence yesterday. Betsy stayed over night at Vets. Many puncture wounds and pierced lung cavity. The vet bill is over 5000.00. Bloodwork, xrays, ultrasounds, wound care, stitches, oxygen.

It was so traumatic to watch her bit into and tossed like a rag doll . Neighbors help subdue the other dogs so I could get her out of there."

Now with my own medical issues I am unfortunately not in a position to help her out. She had to max out her credit card to pay the vet and with her own injuries (she was bit as well) may miss some work as a home health aide to recover both herself and her dog, Betsy. She will probably go through small claims court but that could take months.

And while I've never done this I am asking for any financial assistance you are in a position to offer her.
