Can you spare $1 to help me walk?
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Phoenix, and I'm asking you to please help save me!
If everyone who sees this donates just $1, I can get my new life!
LAST Christmas I was found on the street, paralyzed and shot. THIS Christmas, after a year of abuse and trying to find a home, I was given hope for a chance at a new life…but I NEED YOUR HELP.
The wonderful humans from rescue groups helping me are trying to raise funds for my travel from Saudi Arabia to Canada (approx $9000), for wheels and other mobility aids to help me walk again ($1000) and for my medical costs (unknown but estimated $2000-$5000). Anything you can give helps! Once we have the funds, I can GO HOME . Any extra funds will be donated back to the rescue organization who saved me ❤️.

Here is my story, please take the time to read.
I was found on the streets of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, in desperate need of help. I had been paralyzed from a broken spine, terrified and wounded, with bullets in my body.
I am at least 1.5 years old, and all I’ve ever known has been abuse. I don’t know the specific details of my story, so much has happened that I’d rather forget. I do know that I was originally found this time last year and identified as in need by local volunteer rescue groups. I am paralyzed from a broken spine, likely due to physical abuse or being hit by a car, both of which are sadly very common for street dogs like me. At least 1 bullet is in my body, so I must have been shot at some point.
Over the course of the last year, after initially getting some basic veterinary attention, I have repeatedly been “taken in” by individuals or shelters, some with good intentions, though I was often living in very poor conditions without access to medical care. I was then abandoned over and over. There are pictures of me in a garbage bin. At one point I was removed from one of my many “homes”, driven to the middle of the desert, and left there, a disabled dog, to fend for myself.
Unfortunately there is a pattern of animal abuse globally, and while there are many good people helping animals, abuse still occurs everywhere. Fortunately, Tabuk Paws rescue finally got me to a safer place, and I am now with an animal rescue volunteer group out of Riyadh Saudi Arabia. Though I am now free from further abuse, my situation is still FAR from ideal, and far from what I desperately need as a disabled dog. There aren’t many animal rescue groups in Saudi, and the ones that exist have so many animals in their care that it’s hard to give each one the time and care they need, especially if they have special needs.
The people trying to help me have no way of knowing my full medical picture while I’m in Saudi Arabia, as the veterinary services here are not what they are in other countries. What we do know, is that I have never had X-rays to assess my broken spine or a proper evaluation of my leg paralysis. Because of my spinal cord injury, I am incontinent which makes staying clean difficult, and is embarrassing for me. I have limited mobility which causes pressure sores and other wounds, putting me at high risk for various infections that could kill me if untreated. I NEED to be somewhere that can manage my conditions. I need specialized veterinary attention, imaging, rehabilitation, mobility aids to allow me to walk, and likely surgeries in the future, none of which are available in Saudi Arabia.
I have been DESPERATELY and PATIENTLY waiting for a new life. Despite my many injuries and the poor state I have been in for over a year, I am a very sweet and loving girl. I am understandably fearful of humans after what they’ve done to me and how they’ve let me down, but with time and the right environment, I know I can thrive.
However, without specialist medical care and a proper living environment, my quality of life will be severely compromised, and I may not survive. Tabuk Paws has historically worked with various rescue organizations in the UK to bring in animals like me that need homes and medical care. This was their initial goal with me, however sadly nobody stepped forward. The search then expanded to Canada, where there again was trouble finding a rescue organization to help me. Then, a lovely couple thankfully came across my story, and asked if I still needed a home. They have been starting their own micro-sanctuary for domestic animals in need, mostly small animals for now, and hope/plan to begin their own rescue in the future.
I FINALLY get my second chance, but I need your help to get to Canada! Tabuk paws and my new family have been working tirelessly to figure out my travel. It’s far more difficult and expensive to arrange than anyone would probably expect, especially for disabled animals, but luckily they know I deserve it and are determined to help me. In order to get me the medical care and living environment I need, we need to raise the money to cover my flights and other associated transportation costs. These are estimated to be approximately $8000-10,000.
Unfortunately, my journey doesn’t end once I get off the plane. We are also fundraising to help with the purchase of wheels for me, and other mobility aids that will DRASTICALLY improve my quality of life, allowing me to WALK again, and be pain and injury free when I’m moving around. Imagine a human like you with leg paralysis, how restrictive and difficult their life would be both mentally and physically without a wheelchair, and how empowering and liberating it is with one. That’s the chance you’d be giving me. The cost of wheels and other mobility aids is estimated to be approximately $1000.
Finally, we are fundraising for some known and anticipated veterinary costs. Since the vet care in Saudi Arabia is not like what is available in other countries, and what I need, we know I will require a lot. Aside from a basic assessment, bloodwork, and additional vaccinations, I was infected with ticks and will need investigation and treatment of any tick bourne illness. I will then need advanced imaging of my spine to assess the fracture and any other damage, as well as to locate and assess the state of any bullets that remain inside my body. This will help determine if I need any surgeries, what kinds, and what rehab I will need. I will also likely need to be on long term pain medication, for nerve pain which is common and often lifelong after spinal cord injury. Anyone who has pets knows that vet bills aren’t cheap, especially when chronic medications, imaging, and surgery are needed. Because nobody knows my full medical picture until I’m in Canada and properly assessed, the exact costs aren’t known, but are easily estimated to be a couple thousand dollars.
With your help, I will be able to fly to Canada so that I can start a new life, have the chance to experience real love and happiness, heal my many physical and psychological injuries, and to walk again in whatever capacity I am able.
PLEASE help to give me the life I deserve and so desperately want. Anything you have to give this holiday season, no matter how big or small, would be gratefully received.
Any surplus funds will be DONATED back to the organizations that have helped save my life and give me a second chance, so that they can continue helping other animals like me. Please share my story, and when I'm able to get to my family, they will update this post to include a link to their social media accounts so that you can follow my journey, see my progress, and look forward to updates on how I'm living the life that YOU are helping me to get.
Thank you, from the bottom of my big adorable doggy heart.
