Prolific elder artist needs a little help ! ... Phoenix has devoted over fifty years to diligently creating art at a high level (drawings, paintings, digital and mixed-media works, collages, prints, laser engravings, logos, etc.), plus exhibits, theater and circus designs and productions, music events, magic shows, tattoos and henna body art, books, photography, and animation.

Since being flooded out of my 3000 sq’ studio a few years ago in Ukiah and relocating to Santa Cruz, my lifelong collection of: remaining original works, unfinished works-in-progress, archival and research files & books, tools, art supplies, materials, etc. have been languishing — squished into multiple storage units & largely inaccessible for any sustainable work.

Thus radically constrained income prospects have made it a challenge just to keep up with storage fees, leaving very little for living expenses and no savings to apply to renting an 1800 sq’ studio that would actually accommodate my stored studio fixtures and materials AND provide a viable, fully functional studio facility again.

This has become extremely frustrating for an artist who has tirelessly created thousands of works in diverse media for over 50 years.

What I am already paying in monthly storage fees should nearly cover the new studio rental, however what I need now is first, last, security deposit, a couple of months operating costs, plus moving expenses. (I'll have to pay for overlapping studio & storage rents for at least one month during the moving process.). The enhanced functionality will provide immediate additional income prospects & revenue streams.

Years are slipping by with an extremely diminished creative capacity, NOT from a lack of creative juice, ideas or will, but simply for lack of a stable physical space to practice the full range of my skills in the Arts. Though I have focused mostly on doing research and writing projects without a studio, I do feel creatively VERY frustrated.

A recent shocking and significant, though fortunately minor in impact, medical emergency alerted me to the impending mortal limits of this life, which I have long managed to ignore. This event has lit a fire of desire to complete many unfinished projects, produce a flurry of new works, and prepare to wrap up this long repeating voyage around the sun with grace and skill in the coming years. Having an appropriate new studio space will make that possible ! Please help me manifest this space.
