Hi my name is Phoebe Marsh,
I’m a self-employed educator and advocate for SW rights in the Netherlands. Over the last few years, I've worked with organizations like the PIC, SOA AIDS, and the Ministry of Justice to combat stigma and support Amsterdam’s red-light district community.
I have engaged in multiple volunteer projects, such as the SW Historic Fashion show (See picture), the Red Light SW Archive, and countless hours of unpaid volunteer work to support the SW community. I have gladly given my all to this community which I love so dearly.
However, due to post-Brexit restrictions, I'm in a difficult legal situation. I am awaiting the outcome of a self-employed visa application. For this I need to prove that I can make profit and income through my company to receive the visa. This shouldn't be a problem, as I started my own consultancy company (PRM Consultancy) during my orientation year visa, which is growing and I am involved in a lot of projects.
Because I have applied for a self-employed visa during an orientation visa, my current visa sticker limits my ability to work—a bureaucratic catch-22 situation that risks both my livelihood and my future in the Netherlands.
My only solution is to file an appeal and to go to court, costing around €2500.
By supporting me financially, you allow me to:
- Hand over the stress and bureaucracy of appealing and court procedures to professionals, so that I have a better chance of remaining in the Netherlands.
- Continue working in the Netherlands, advocating, educating and consulting for the rights of SWs and other marginalised groups.
Any extra funds which are donated will be used towards unforeseen fees, allowing me the breathing space to learn Dutch, to keep building my consultancy and eventually develop a PhD surrounding SW activism and histories.
Thank you for considering my campaign. Any little contribution I am extremely grateful for!
With gratitude,
Phoebe Ruth Marsh
