Hi, my name is Roseanne, and this is my best friend, Phoebe.
Phoebe isn’t just my pet; she’s my companion, my partner in crime, my shoulder to cry on, and much more. As an 81-year-old widow with chronic ailments, having Phoebe has changed my life. I no longer live for just myself; I live for her, or shall I say, she is my reason for living. I take care of her, but she takes care of me in ways no one ever could. Even with a wag of her bushy tail or a stare-off for table scraps, she makes the darkest days bright.
Unfortunately, Phoebe needs a lot more care than I can provide for her alone. She has been in and out of the vet's for weeks now with what we thought started out as a simple UTI (urinary tract infection). However, even after the thousands we’ve spent on medications, treatments, and vet care, she now needs kidney surgery. The surgery runs at least $3,000 that we simply do not have after what we’ve just paid. If we don’t come up with the funds ASAP and get her surgery, losing her is inevitable with the severe infections to come. She’s only 5 years old, with so much life to live and joy to bring.
As a proud person, asking for help, especially on such a public forum, is difficult. However, I put my pride aside to save the bestest girl in the whole wide world, my Phoebers.
If you’re not in the position to donate, I completely understand and appreciate you sharing Phoebe’s story with your network.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my sweet girl and her story. God bless.
With heartfelt thanks,
Roseanne and Phoebe
