Help Phlip Recover & Rebuild After Devastating Fire
Donation protected
We’re reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of a beloved member of our community, Philliper "Phlip" Stewart. The daughter of the late Elnor and Julius "Buddy" Stewart. At 69 years old, Phlip has spent her life giving back to Baton Rouge, bringing joy and unity through music and community events. As the founder of the Buddy Stewart’s Music Foundation and The Rhythm Museum, Philp has been a beacon of light, organizing festivals like Rocktober Fest, which has enriched our lives with the magic of Blues, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Gospel. Tragically, on Friday, August 2, 2024, Philp's world was turned upside down when a fire consumed her home. Thanks to the bravery of her neighbors, Phlip was rescued, but not without sustaining serious respiratory and physical injuries. Adding to the challenge, Phlip has been battling dementia, making this ordeal even more overwhelming for her. Phlip has always been there for us, using her passion for music to create spaces of happiness and connection. Now, it's our turn to support her in her time of need. We are seeking donations to help Phlip rebuild her life and cover medical expenses. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference. Let’s come together as a community to show our gratitude and support for a woman who has given us so much. Please consider donating and sharing this post with others who may want to help. Together, we can help Phlip find hope and healing in this challenging time.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
