Help Phillip "SARGE" Roberts win the fight!!

Hi! My name is Amber Roberts, and I am the wife and full-time caregiver of my husband Phillip “Sarge” Roberts Sr. We have been through so much these past 2 years and my family and I have been trying to do this on our own, but it is getting harder and harder every day to continue on alone. We started out trying to fix everything in a hospital, but it has now turned into a large group of traumatologists, plastic surgeons, reconstructive specialists, infectious disease specialists, in home physical therapists, and home health care nurses.  We are in over our heads now for something that was suppose to be an "easy" fix. and this his has just turned out to be more than we can handle and more than we can afford.

On April 20, 2019, we suffered a tragic accident. Phillip was rushed to the hospital at 10:45 pm because the injuries were so intense. After being in surgery for almost 10 hours and the absolute longest night ever for me and my boys we finally learned that dad was going to be ok. When the doctor came in the next morning to explain the amount of injuries Phillip had sustained, none of us were prepared to comprehend the amount of blood, sweat, and tears it would take to repair and reshape all our lives, physically and mentally. After a painful month-long inpatient stay at the hospital, Phillip was finally allowed to go home, in May, with many restrictions and limitations. After months and months of follow ups with the surgeons, physical therapy, and a permanent wheelchair, the holidays came around and Phillip was finally told that he could start to walk slowly on his own. While painful and extremely stiff from a non-weight bearing order for almost a year, he tried to muscle through it all in hopes of gaining our lives back. That is, until the unexpected happened after the new year. The hardware in his leg failed and he was back to square one! In March of 2020, COVID-19 happened, and we were told that the surgery needed to remove the failed hardware was “non-essential”. Later on we found out that his injuries were considered essential (according to the hospital association) and that he should have been put in surgery immediately. It was not until May of 2020 that they finally were able to put me back into the rotation for surgery. During recovery from May to October, two bone infections developed and nearly cost me my life. He has been through 3 different surgeons that told us they could fix his leg and backed out at the last second. Being transferred from doctor to doctor is not a short or easy task. So for right now, we are at a stand still. Phillip lives on antibiotics with a very compromised immune system everyday. We are currently waiting for surgery all while still paying for the last 5 surgeries that never helped him get to the ultimate goal of being able to walk again and ridding his body of the bone infection that is trying to take over. We are simply asking for any help or assistance. The money would be able to help us to continue to fight this fight. Many things go into trying to take care of someone who is in and out of hospitals and doctor's offices. Life still has to go on in the background and with two boys, it can be overwhelming at times. At this point, multiple doctors are needed and the home health care nurses are required. Insurance does not cover everything, nor does it pay for a lot of the at home necessities required for his continued medical care. Any assistance that y'all can provide will be greatly, greatly appreciated.
