My name is Phillip, and I am a military veteran and full-time student. Recently, a drunk driver crashed into my house at a high rate of speed, causing extensive damage to both the outside and inside of my home. The impact destroyed my landscaping, privacy fencing, and left debris scattered all over my yard. This is the third time a vehicle has come into my yard, and each incident has left me feeling more vulnerable in my own home.
Right now, I am facing urgent repairs just to keep my house safe and stable. Temporary walls are needed in the garage area to stabilize the structure and prevent further damage. This doesn’t even begin to cover the additional expenses for cleanup and repairs until the insurance adjusters can come out and start the process. As a military vet and full-time student, I simply don’t have the resources to cover these unexpected costs, especially when the situation was completely out of my control.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for all the support the community has given, the news coverage to get things done with city officials, and for bringing this to light. Your help means the world to me, and I appreciate each and every one of you. God Bless and Happy New Year.
