Help Phillip Get the Medical Care He Needs

Hello! My name is Brittany. I am a foster for the Florence Lauderdale Animal Services. We have a current foster that has come to us a few months ago in rough shape. His name is Phillip! Over the last few months, he hasn't put on the weight he needs to. When he got neutered on 1/3, he weighed 1.9 lbs. He should be close to 5 lbs. He has a potbelly and a horrible cough. We finally got a vet appointment today and didn't get great news. He has an enlarged heart and a possible enlarged liver. They ran some blood work and said they found a protein that indicates his vessels are too wide and not pumping the blood the way it should be. They gave us some Lasix to help get the fluid off his chest in hopes of helping his cough. But we cannot get an official diagnosis or prognosis without further testing. The vet suggested getting an echo and then doing an ultrasound to verify issues with the liver.

I went to the shelter today and let them know what was going on, and they thought it would be a good idea to see if we could raise the funds to get Phillip the echo he needs! They said it is around $500 for the echo and to see if we could also help get the funds for the visit today covered.

I will get a printout of the bill to verify and make the goal appropriate. I figured with the sedation and X-ray, I assume the appointment today is going to be in the $200 range. I will make sure I get the correct amount!

Please help us reach our goal so we can get the echo done! We were given 10 days of Lasix, so I am hoping we can get it done before then!
