Help Philip Perkins Heal and Recover

Hello family and friends! I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad, Philip Perkins.

On June 14, 2025 my dad was taken to the ER via non-emergent ambulance and was admitted on Father's Day with viral pneumonia due to the para-influenza virus. That Monday, June 16th, the doctors recommended moving him to the ICU and placing him on a ventilator. The virus had spread so rapidly overnight that his lungs were nothing but white fuzz on the x-ray. Mom and dad agreed that this was the best course of action and thus began a long and harrowing summer for our family. He spent 31 days in the hospital, 22 days in the ICU, 12 days on a ventilator, and multiple days on dialysis.

As of July 16th he was moved to a nursing home here in Hanford to continue his recovery and get the physical therapy that his body needs. He continues to be on dialysis while his kidneys are healing and he is working to make it back home. Through this process there have been unforeseen expenses that my mom and dad have had to put out and any donations to this GoFundMe would help them recoup what they didn't expect to spend because my dad got so sick so suddenly.
