Help Philip Kiama Fight Lymphoblastic Leukaemia
Donation protected
At just 11 years old, Philip Kiama has already faced more pain and adversity than most of us will in a lifetime.
Earlier this year, Philip bravely completed treatment for Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. His family celebrated a hard-won victory in March 2024, when doctors confirmed that the cancer was in complete remission. For a short moment, there was light at the end of the tunnel, laughter returned to their home, and hope was restored.
But in a cruel twist of fate, that hope was short-lived.
In November 2024, Philip was diagnosed with a secondary cancer known as T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (T-ALL) which is a more aggressive and life-threatening condition. The prognosis is significantly worse when treated with chemotherapy alone. Doctors at the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Unit of Kenyatta National Hospital have now strongly recommended that Philip undergo a bone marrow transplant overseas to give him the best chance at life.
This procedure is urgent, complex, and extremely costly.
We are kindly appealing to raise €70,000 (Ksh 10,000,000) to cover:
1. The cost of the bone marrow transplant abroad
2. Pre-transplant medical care and evaluations
3. Travel and accommodation for Philip and his caregiver
4. Post-operative care and follow-up treatments
We Need Your Help
Philip is not just a cancer patient but he’s a kind-hearted, curious boy who loves cartoons, football, and spending time with his younger siblings. He dreams of one day becoming a doctor so he too can help children in pain.
But now, his life depends on a transplant we cannot afford alone. His parents have already exhausted their resources during his previous battle with cancer. They are emotionally and financially drained, but they refuse to give up on their son.
This is why we are turning to you, our community, friends, and kind strangers to help give Philip a second chance at life.
Every contribution matters
No amount is too small. Your donation, your prayers, your shares they all bring us one step closer to saving Philip.
Please help us fight for his life.
Please help us bring him back home healthy
