Help Phil Corbin cover his medical expenses

Donation protected
I am Laurel the wife of Phil Corbin. I am trying to raise money for the medical expenses we have started to receive and what we will be incurring since his hospitalization on Nov.19.

I never thought I would be experiencing this much heartbreak since the death of my sons. This picture was taken after a kind hearted Dr. let me see him for a minute after a meeting, as he was near death. Covid has created the hurt of separation from not being able to be with your critically ill and dieing loved ones.

Dropping him off at the E.R. I didn't know how seriously ill he was. But his health rapidly turned critical as he had chronic pancreatitis. Causing intense pain his abdomen filled taunt with fluid. His kidneys shut down and it basically  affected  every organ in his body.

He kept telling the Drs. and the nurses I can't breathe, I can't breathe! They just told him it was because of the fluid pressing on his lungs.

Two days later he sent me a text saying, I'm not going to make it through this one I love you. Then at 11:30 p.m. the same day he sent another text saying I'm going fast, I love you baby. I never knew he had even sent them till 2 days later.

Two days later after not receiving any word on him, I called and was put on hold. His nurse came on and by the way she was talking I asked what his condition was.  Thats when I was told because of his chronic pancreatitis he was now in I.C.U. on a ventilator, sedated and his kidneys had shut down. I just lost it, how can a hospital forget to call you when your husband is near death.

I was always afraid to answer the phone because it would always be more bad news. Next his heart went into an afib and it had to be shocked. Then several days later the Dr. called to say he had a brain bleed and his brain was swelling. She then stated we have done all we can. The social worker was then put on to ask me if he had a living will and discuss hospice. But I said no and by the grace of God he pulled through from that episode.

He's had setbacks several times with bacterial infections, sepsis and fluid in his lungs. But still he hung on to get better before the next relapse.

Phil is 66 and was still working because I've been on Social  Securit disability for the past 7 years and I'm not eligible  for part B Medicare till April. So we had to stay with his work insurance.

His insurance did cover the month of December. I knew we would have to pay our share for the month of January of $600.00 counting life insurance.. But what I didn't know that we would have to pay the whole amount of $1700. a month for Feb. and March. because of work policies. He did have a month worth of sick and vacation time accrued but that got used up due to covid layoffs last spring.

Plus with our insurance we have high deductibles, co-pays, and out of pocket costs of $6850.00 a year. Because he was admitted at the end of 2020 his portion has started to come in. Then January 1, the $6850 starts all over again. Plus I have many health issues with having to pay my share.

All the money we receive will go towards the payments to get us insurance coverage, plus all the deductibles we have to pay. When we go on Medicare in April I don't even know what all his prescriptions will be from being so ill other than insulin.

I realize with covid in the world and Christmas just getting over not everyone will have money to give. I pray please give what you can and I understand if you can't help at this time. I so appreciate  everyone who can. God bless
